How to get to Muyil on your own?

It is easy to visit Muyil from Tulum or Playa Del Carmen. The archaeological zone of Muyil is the gateway to the Sian Ka’an reserve on the northwest side. Muyil is located a 20-minute drive from Tulum and a 1.5-hour drive from Playa Del Carmen. The road to go to Muyil is in good condition, there isn’t a long dirt track like to go to Punta Allen before starting to enjoy the nature reserve. Even if the area of Punta Allen is the most attractive for its fauna, flora and landscapes, Muyil remains a good option, and is really much easier to access for a self guided-tour.
