When you are in the bustle of Tulum, it’s hard to believe that there is such a nature reserve with impressive wildlife just a few kilometers away! But yes that’s true. The Sian Ka’an nature reserve hosts more than 300 species of birds and animals that fascinates young and old alike such as dolphins, turtles and crocodiles. Also present in the biosphere, jaguars, manatees, panthers, hammerhead sharks and other rays, sometimes appear to the delight of visitors. All these species are living in their natural habitat! Enjoy a great experience with Pixan Ka’an 💚
Worth every penny!
We saw a crocodile, dolphins, huge sea turtles in crystal clear water and plenty of colourful fish while snorkelling along a beautiful reef. At the end of the tour we passed by a little island full of pelicans.
The food at lunch was also really decent, considering it was included in the price! I liked that our boat only carried 6 people and wasn’t too crowded.
My partner and I had a great time on this trip. Abraham was very knowledgable about everything Yucatán and Punta Allen and everything around us. He spoke all the languages. Everyone involved was super helpful. It was great value for money, a full day experience. We saw dolphins, a crocodile, turtles and lots of birds. The waters were calm and the weather was beautiful. Highly recommend this.
Amazing experience. So fun. Best day ever. Went with my boyfriend and had a blast. Beautiful sights and good host. Food was good too!
Most visitors to the reserve come for the iconic animals like the dolphin and the turtle: Watching them is definitely an unforgettable experience. There are many other activities to do in Sian Ka’an. You can spend a peaceful night in Punta Allen, snorkel on the reef, visit the archaeological site of Muyil, practice sport fishing, explore the mangroves, walk in the Jungle…
The Sian Ka’an Biosphere has two parts to explore: Muyil and Punta Allen. In Muyil you can visit the archaeological site, watch birds and float down the ancient channels. In Punta Allen, you can observe many animals such as dolphins, go snorkeling and visit an authentic fishing village. Muyil and Punta Allen have completely different access. So, if you are looking how to get to Sian Ka’an, you should first decide which area you want to visit. Muyil is easy to reach while Punta Allen is a bit more complicated because of the long dirt road. The Sian Ka’an tour we offer to visit Punta Allen is the most comfortable option: we board the boat at the beginning of the reserve and avoid a long & bumpy road.
Sian Ka’an is a natural reserve classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
